צְבִיטָה

צְבִיטָהf. (צָבַט) seizing, handling; בית הצ׳ that part of a vessel by which it is seized, handle, neck, cavity for the fingers, Ḥag.III, 1 (20b) אחוריים ותוך ובית הצ׳ (Y. ed. ובית צביעה) (in vessels used for Trumah) the back (outside), the inside, and the handle are considered as independent of one another (one becoming unclean does not affect the others).
